S2S Header Bidding with AMP Ads<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The next option for publishers wanting to try header bidding on their AMP pages is enabling a server-to-server wrapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, you can use a wrapper to connect to multiple demand partners via a wrapper interface and dashboards. Moreover, it can also help you overcome the limitations of RTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With wrapper-based integration, you can call out to as many demand partners for auction as you want. This is how it works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff1f5\"><li>As your AMP page loads on a user\u2019s browser, the defined ads AMP element sends a single call to the wrapper\u2019s server (such as the prebid server).<\/li><li>The server then conducts a server-to-server auction calling out to demand partners who are looking for AMP inventory.<\/li><li>Just like header bidding, the auction is concluded when a timeout is reached, and the winner gets to display the ad.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best part is that publishers can even add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adpushup.com\/blog\/how-does-open-bidding-work-in-google-ad-manager\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google\u2019s Open Bidding<\/a> (formerly Exchange Bidding) to bid for the AMP inventory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once wrapper-based S2S header bidding is set, publishers don\u2019t need to deal with any of the development and implementation-related work &#8211; which was already taken care of by your in-house team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you work with a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adpushup.com\/header-bidding\/\" target=\"_blank\">managed header bidding partner<\/a> (like AdPushup), they can take care of the development and implementation part for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"poptin-embedded\" data-id=\"63ccd57953160\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"h-4-built-in-consent-element\">4. Built-in Consent Element<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In April and early May 2018, AMP Project released two updates that let publishers build user controls and manage the choices via a new AMP component called &lt;amp-consent&gt;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows publishers to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Determine If the User should be Asked to Interact with the Control<\/strong>: By specifying a remote URL or another amp component to determine if the user will be prompted to make a choice.<\/li><li><strong>Capture the User\u2019s Consent Decision<\/strong>: The user choices can be \u201caccept\u201d or \u201creject\u201d; if the user doesn\u2019t make any choices, then \u201cunknown\u201d. The publisher can also implement a \u201cdismiss\u201d action (like a &#8220;close&#8221; button), which will result in neither state being set and the user control remaining unresolved.<br><\/li><li><strong>Makes the User\u2019s Setting Available to Elements on the AMP Page to Modify the Page\u2019s Behaviour<\/strong>: By adding an HTML attribute, publishers can configure AMP elements to be blocked from loading if the user setting is undetermined or is in a negative state (that is, the user rejected).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This makes it possible to only load ads and\/or analytics when user consent is given. Additionally, elements can be further customized by vendors to have more sophisticated behaviours that depend on the user\u2019s settings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ampproject.org\/docs\/reference\/components\/amp-consent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">documentation<\/a> for implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DFP\/AdX and AdSense support &lt;amp-consent&gt; publishers may choose to serve non-personalized ads to users, or they may choose to serve ads selectively based on consent. Video AMP Ads Pages<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>AMP is designed to load fast pages, and video makes web pages load slowly. However, with the rise of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adpushup.com\/blog\/video-advertising-a-complete-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\">video advertising<\/a>, AMP came out with a solution to run video ads on AMP pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AMP allows both in-stream and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adpushup.com\/blog\/what-are-outstream-video-ads-and-how-to-get-started-with-it\/\" target=\"_blank\">out-stream video ads<\/a>. In-stream video ads can be rendered using &lt;amp-ima-video&gt; extension.
